Logitech's Driving Force GT is a gaming wheel designed for use with Sony's
PS2 and PS3 consoles only. So, apart from the wheel and pedals, you'll find all
the usual control buttons that you find on the usual gamepads. Build quality is
stellar, and you won't be scared to perform some aggressive driving maneuvers
with it. A nice touch is the backlit GT logo in the centre of the wheel.
Setup is easy, and there is one power adapter and two cables that you have to
connect. It does have to be mounted on a steady table, for which there are
sturdy plastic mounts. The pedals have non-slip pads for floor use and spikes
for carpet use. The brake pedal offers some resistance, which feels more
realistic. The powerful force feedback that it offers in a crash or when you get
nudged by another car is addictive. It even offers resistance while just
turning, just like in a real car. Something unique is the real-time adjustment
dial, using which you can control settings like traction control in GT5.

It's not compatible with every racing game, but it does support a lot from
the PS2 and PS3 catalogue. Popular supported games on the PS2 include Gran
Tourismo 4, Flat Out, Midnight Club 3 DUB Edition, TOCA Race Driver, Burnout
Series, Colin McRae series and F1 series, to name a few. While on the PS3, it is
supported on Gran Tourismo 5, Midnight Club Los Angeles, the Need for Speed
series, Burnout Paradise, DiRT and Ridge Racer 7 to name a few. You can check
out the complete list on the Logitech website before you buy, to make sure that
your favorite game is supported.

The only things I didn't like were the hard to press paddle shifts behind the
wheel and the permanently mounted sequential-style gearshift. It's mounted on
the right hand side of the wheel, which falls more naturally to the hand for
those used to left hand drive cars. With a PS3 and a good projector or large
screen TV, Logitech's Driving Force GT injects a large dose of reality into the
gaming fix that is hard to explain. A must-have for racing fans.
