The Genius P6533 is a budget point and shoot. It sports a red colored
exterior and a stylish silver finish around the buttons and lens cover. It snaps
images at 6 MP resolution and features a 2.4” LCD display which also works as
the viewfinder. The camera clicks good quality images when there is ample light
around. However, if the light source isn't strong, noise creeps in. Even if the
subject is in the shade and there is strong light coming from the side, the
images show a lot of noise in darker areas. The flash is one of the highlights
of the camera. It is very strong and does a good job in low light.
The camera offers basic 3X optical zoom, Pictbridge functionality and even
works as a webcam when connected to the PC. It can even record average quality
videos at 320 x 240 at 30 fps.
Power is from 2 AA batteries which will last about 50-70 shots with mixed use
of the flash. High power Ni-MH batteries will no doubt yield better results.
Although the camera is considerably larger than the immediate competition, for
the price of less than 4.5k, it sure is a steal. It looks great, clicks above
average photos in most situations, records videos and can also function as a
webcam when attached to a PC.
