Transcend's PF730B is an attractive photo frame with 2GB memory built in.
Finished in black and white glossy plastic, the 7-inch LCD can be used to
display JPEG photos in different modes (slideshow, thumbnail). The stand is just
a small metal rod. With the same stand, the frame can be oriented in portrait or
landscape mode. A nice touch is the built in accelerometer that adjusts the
image accordingly. It has a tiny built in speaker to playback audio files, AVI
movies or have music during a slideshow.
The highlight of this device is the high resolution screen. Photos really
come alive on the screen because it is so pin-sharp. It works best if you resize
all the photos to 800 x 600 pixels; not only will you be able to store more
photos in the available memory, but you also don't have to worry about black
bars and aspect ratio mismatch.
I liked the fact that there is no visible infrared sensor on the front bezel.
The remote control itself is labeled well and easy to use. If you're worried
about it getting flicked in office, there's also a Kensington lock slot to help
tie it down.

The glossy black bezel shows up fingerprints, especially after a few people
have picked it up to admire the photos. The USB port is placed oddly; dead
center at the back of the device, so that an attached USB drive sticks out
backwards. This makes it look odd when viewed from the side. Finally, an option
to wall mount it would have been neat. Nevertheless, a good buy.
