Micromax has launched a slew of mobile phones recently, and they all look
really good. Plus, they are pretty affordable as well. Offering all the features
normally seen in more expensive phones, the phones seem to be a good choice for
someone looking for a bargain.
The X225 is a dual GSM SIM phone, which offers the convenience of using just
one phone even though you may have two SIM cards. At a price of around Rs 3.5k,
it also offers a tiny 2 MP camera which is a real value add. The menu is decent
and the interface is quite zippy, even though it lacks pizazz. The memory can be
expanded using a memory card and the phone also has Bluetooth to transfer your
audio and video along with FM radio and MP3 capabilities for music on the move.
Despite all this, the phone is extremely thin and weighs only 76 grams including
battery and SIM.

However, below the creamy surface lie quite a few niggles. First off, even
though the call quality is good, quality of the in ear speaker is a big let
down. The sound is extremely sharp and quite low as well. You may face troubles
while listening to the other person if you are in moderately noisy surroundings.
We also faced a weird problem; while trying to get the SIM card out, the back
panel refused to open. It had to be jostled with and pulled; and it was the
battery, right up against the inner part of the back panel, which played the
culprit.

Overall, the affordability and dual SIM definitely makes it attractive, but
certain issues need to be addressed before we give it the title of the perfect
low-cost dual SIM mobile.
