Another reasonably priced handset from LG, and another performer which does
the basic job nicely. And since it is from the same handset family as the GB110,
there are a lot of similarities. The menu is similar to the GB110 and so is the
screen quality. Even though the 1.5 inch screen is not the best in the world, it
is quite decent to use.
The GB106 is a no frills handset which comes with extremely basic features,
but the USP of the phone is the FM radio capabilities which LG has been offering
at this low price-point-just Rs 2.1k. It does not have a camera, which of course
is not expected at this price.
The look and the feel of the phone is good. Unlike other low-cost handsets
which generally have a fragile body and shoddy exterior, the GB106 on the other
hand looks classy in its blue and black colored panel.
The call quality of the device is quite decent with no unnecessary
bells and whistles disturbing your calls. The speaker is extremely loud, which
is also beneficial for listening to FM radio. However, the audio does become
quite sharp at high volumes.

The cover for the handsfree port is quite flimsy and will keep you in
perennial feat of breaking it.Another thing which I did not like is how the rear
panel opens. I had the same issue with it's elder brother, the GB110, but the
GB106 is still a bit better.
Overall, a mobile which should interest everyone who needs a simple handset
for their daily communication usage.
