Youth oriented products are the forte of Virgin Mobile, and the vJazz handset
is a step in that direction. The handset has features which have become
synonymous with any good quality phone: camera, SD card slot, Bluetooth and
mobile Internet enabled.
The handset build quality is extremely good; it looks more expensive than it
actually is. On the feature front, it comes with an expandable memory (upto 2GB
supported), and a 1.3 MP camera. The camera is good enough for clicking very
basic images.
The handset has dedicated buttons to access your media, the Internet and the
speaker phone when on a call. The 2-inch screen does offer decent views, even
under bright sunlight.
The audio quality is crystal clear and pretty loud as well. The speakerphone
offers really loud and clear call quality. I did not face any signal issues in
Delhi or NCR. The highlight of this handset is the unlimited full music track
downloads-you can download songs for free from the vMusic service for one year.
Something that the 'hip' crown would most certainly love.
The only grouse I have with the Virgin Mobile service is that they don't
allow you to use their CDMA SIM card with any other handset or the use of other
SIMs in their phones. This kind of restricts the service to those handsets
offered by Virgin itself. Buy it if you're OK with being bound to the Virgin
service.
