The latest phone from Intex's stable, the IN4488 exudes oomph and glamor in
its completely black attire and clamshell design.
This clamshell has dual SIM (GSM+GSM) support. Other features it includes
are: a VGA camera, MP3 player, FM radio with recording capability and an
expandable memory of upto 2 GB.
The UI of the phone is intuitive and keypad comfy to use. Using two SIMs
simultaneously on it was a breeze. There are two keys, numbered '1' and '2' on
either sides of the navpad to clear the confusion which SIM you want to use for
dialing a number or sending an SMS.
Besides this there is nothing much to praise of; Intex guys have forgotten to
take care of some basics-like placing a volume button. You just can't change the
volume no matter what. There are volume symbols visible on screen, but they
can't be accessed.
Audio clarity is there but the volume isn't loud enough as is expected to be.
Then it is FM; you can't listen to FM and send an SMS, browse through your image
gallery, or any other task simultaneously; basically FM cannot run in the
background. Also, FM reception indoors (at times outdoors as well) is
questionable.
Overall, an average device. Can only be recommended to those who are looking
for an affordable and stylish dual SIM clamshell handset. But if you want a
feature-rich dual SIM phone, look elsewhere.
