What do most youngsters want in a phone? A camera? Maybe. Multimedia
capabilities, FM, MP3 player? For sure. A price that won't break the bank? Hell,
yeah! Moto Yuwa, the latest entry-level phone from Motorola has many features
from a high-end device in a low, low price. With a black plastic casing, this
candy-bar phone has a lustrous silver color on the edges. I wouldn't say that it
looks exceptional, but the overall ergonomics are good. The keys are well placed
and keypad is quite comfy.
I liked the simple user interface, which corresponds to easier navigation.
Music and messaging features are even easier to access since dedicated keys are
assigned to them. A nice surprise is the inclusion of stereo speakers on the
device itself. The speaker was loud enough while attending the calls as well as
listening to music.
But not everything is hunky-dory either. The FM recording, one of the
highlighted features, didn't perform that well; the recorded audio was boomy and
echoed. It also misses out on connectivity options as there is no Bluetooth or
Infrared. But at a price of just 3k, this is a good option for teens looking for
a budget phone. If a camera and Bluetooth is a must, the Nokia 2600c can also be
considered (Rs 3,400), which has a VGA camera and Bluetooth v2.0.
