When it comes to PDAs, it's a huge and bulky device that comes to mind.
Another pre-conceived notion is that feature-packed PDAs need to cost a bomb!
But in one deft move, the P320 has dispelled both myths. Not only is it
unbelievably small, it's also loaded to the brim. Running Windows Mobile
Professional 6.1, the P320 has a 2.6” touchscreen, quad-band GSM radio, a TI
OMAP 850 200 MHz processor, WiFi,
128 MB ROM, and 64 MB RAM. Other specs include GPRS, EDGE, 2 megapixel camera,
Bluetooth 2.0, and a microSD memory card slot. The phone also has an integrated
GPS receiver using Sirf Star III chip which works great and gets a fix in less
than 20 seconds. Given the price, it's understandable that there is no GPS
navigation software included. The overall performance is great; the touchscreen
is bright and responsive, and Asus has included some handy Today screen
customizations. Even with a 200 MHz processor, the interface is fast, however,
this may not be the case if you load it up with lots of software and data. This
device impresses with its sound output which is surprisingly loud and clear.
Battery life is surprising good too, easily netting a day and a half of
real-world usage. The Asus P320 is an excellent device, though business users
might miss a bigger display and keyboard. At the low asking price of just 13k,
all these flaws can easily be overlooked.
