Asus is sure on a PDA launching spree. The latest in the series is the P750
which is packed with many useful features. To start with, it looks very polished
in it's black metal body. No QWERTY keypad but the numeric keypad along with the
navigation keys and joystick is quite sufficient for most. If you prefer, you
can also use the jog dial for faster navigation. Press and hold the jog dial in
and it also doubles up as volume key.
The 2.6-inch touchscreen works well with the stylus and responds well to
fingers too. The phone is pretty fast, thanks to the Marvel 520 MHz processor
and 64 MB SDRAM. The phone has plenty of apps to suit your needs; you can access
your PC remotely from your mobile, connect the phone to the laptop via Bluetooth
or use it as a remote presenter. And that's not all, the phone also comes with
an on-board GPS receiver and the One India map from SatGuide.
A 3 MP camera is included, but no flash. As with most Windows Mobile PDAs,
the camera is more of an embellishment. For video conferencing, there is an
additional VGA camera in front. For easy data transfer it has quite a few
connectivity options which include 3G, Bluetooth, EDGE and Wi-Fi.
The single loudspeaker at the back is good enough for ringtones but not for
music. Not a problem as the supplied headphones are good enough for your
entertainment needs. Overall, one of the best looking and connected compact
Windows Mobile PDAs out there.
