Need for Speed : Pro Street

Prostreet fails to steal the thunder from underground

Anmol Kapoor
1/10/2008

A refresh is something that doesn't come easy at all, and it often ends up being a dead joke that never should have been told at the first place. I'm afraid it is not that positive in the case of NFS - Pro Street. Underground made me fall in love with franchise at the first place, with its amazing customization options and super impressive concept of open world racing and ever since then, I have loved every bit of my NFS experience. Sure, there have been a few minor holes over the years, but certainly not threatening enough to stop EA from giving tthe franchise a complete makeover. Pro Street takes away everything that made the series so good and replaces it with the concept of tracks which would have been widely appreciated if there was no PGR4 that has TRACKS written all over it and does it so much better. Not only has the game play suffered because of the uninspired thinking, the physics have never been this average.

Except for the good looks and a decent online component, Pro Street only manages to kill the very air it breathes.
